Whatime, a new mobile application for sportsmen, has just been released! In contrast to rival applications, this app does not focus on the performance of users but rather on their social side. Whatime’s main objective is to gather sportsmen of any genre and develop real life communities to meet for events that anyone is free to organize.
When creating a profile, users can choose from a long list of sports that sparks their interest and rates their level of difficulty. This makes it possible for them to create or join open events, allowing them to meet people with common interests. Furthermore, in order to keep in contact with other users and facilitate communication for the next meetings, it is possible to add contacts in the list of partners and establish teams. The application also allows the sharing of photos and circuits for those following bike races.
In regards to the development of the application, Jean-Blaise Ripoll and Florent Bettini, both friends at the origin of Whatime, work with the agency Wacan that is based in Sophia Antipolis. But the duo also called on to SKEMA Business School to obtain support in the marketing and the communication field.
Whatime is one of 9 the projects that students of the Digital Marketing MSc program are working on this year. These projects, supervised by seasoned coaches, are an integral part of the Master’s degree program and they are selected to allow students to apply the teachings from their courses such as: project management, design, e-commerce, web marketing and communication, social networks, and management. It’s clear there are many disciplines as every group has to put forth what they learned into practice by collaborating with teammates and company representatives.
